Position: AOL StudioNow Intern (Video Production)
Location: Nashville, TN
Term: Spring, Summer and Fall 2012
AOL StudioNow is fast becoming one of the largest video content producers for the Internet. StudioNow focuses on creating scaled content and aggregates thousands of editors, videographers and creative individuals in a creative network to provide professional-quality video, text, photo and audio content for all types of A list clients.
We are looking for highly-intelligent and motivated interns to join our team on a part time basis. Interns will be exposed to a variety of projects and all levels of the business; and will be exposed to high level video production project management and production.
Intern candidates will ideally have some experience or demonstrated interest in video production, editing, online media, creative development, or similar fields. Interns should be creative, driven, able to deliver on the quick deadlines inherent in the creative / production industry – and most importantly, want to work with producers, editors, and videographers to help execute projects.
Job Description
The internship for video production and network development will assist with management and in-office production for both the StudioNow Production and Network Development departments. This is not an on-set production internship. Specific tasks and responsibilities will heavily depend upon experience and ambition – and interns should be ready to work hard while being afforded the opportunity to learn a great deal about the media business.
Job Summary
- Updating of filmmaker profiles within the StudioNow platform
- Participation with the management of social networking sites, as directed
- Encoding and transcoding video on the fly
- Interaction with filmmakers / editors
- Potentially edit projects on an as needed basis
- Other tasks working with Producers or Network Development Department
- Work with the team of production coordinators
- Using your brain to help us out, and learn a great deal in the process
Professional Skills & Experience That Work Well for Interns at StudioNow
- Highly developed organizational skills
- Highly developed project management skills
- Someone who wants to work, but have fun and learn media top to bottom
- Film & video production and/or post-production experience is a huge plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Upbeat and positive attitude with a customer service mentality
- High degree of comfort with being on the phone (both making and receiving calls)
- Computer “superliterate” – ie a high degree of proficiency on a computer (both Mac and Windows)
Minimum Requirements
- Applicants will be given preference based on experience working in film & video production and/or post-production
- Currently enrolled in four-year university degree program is preferred
